On stage is definately where my kiddos love to be!

Silver! Gold! Gold! Gold!

The kids brought home the hardware this weekend!

I'm so proud of them for dancing with all their heart and determination....medals are just icing.

They ROCKED!

It's great that they are rewarded for a job well done with high marks, praise and medals of any colour from the adjudicators --- but as their instructor says if you're happy with your performance and you had fun that is all that matters.

My reward is seeing them on stage where I know they love to be. I will also admit I love listening to the people around me when they comment about the kids on stage when they just happen to be mine....or ones that I know.

Big proud moments this weekend watching all our kids ROCK IT!

Other highlights of the weekend included me loosing my mind Friday morning before leaving the house....not a proud moment but it happens occasionally. Feeding the kids donuts for supper on Saturday night....again not a mom-o-the-year moment but they didn't seem to mind. Some of the better moments were getting to play with the kids in the pool and taking pics of the kids playing in the pool on Friday night and then managing to squeeze in one more hour of awesome pool time for them Saturday afternoon......and since Owen was miraculously comfortable in this particular pool, we were able to sit on the deck and watch them play....together....without fighting....all 4 of them. Awesome! A rare occasion where teens and young'uns all got along. It lasted all of an hour but I'll take it where I get it.

The weekend wasn't insanely rush-rush which was nice and the hotel being right across the street from the competition site was perfect. We ended up staying the 2nd night afterall and popping over to Al's cousins' hotel so the kids could swim and play together (and I could accidently drink a bottle of wine) and relax. Unfortunately I found out when we checked out that the quoted price for our hotel room wasn't the actual price and we ended up paying more than expected but without having the actual email with the quoted price on it with me what could I do. It was an expensive weekend so that extra $50 doesn't make that much difference...and the huge (and I do mean huge) room and the location made it worth it.

Competition weekend is over for another year. Where will we go next year? Brandon again? Yorkton? Next up - Spring Concert in a couple weeks.....and then we are done till September.

Off to finish up the last of the weekend laundry. Have a good afternoon.

(At Work) Boredom Buster Blog Post - Part Uno

via text message ---- "You should update your blog. I need something to read."

Getting right on that.

Cuz I aim to please.

Actually I've been trying to get to it for days now but that whole mountain of paperwork/laundry/errand running/financial crisis thing just keeps getting in the way.

I know. I know.

Some peoples' priorities are just not in the right place. I'll try to do better.

So tonight, I'm cozy in my jammies after a long and stressful couple days and I'm going to update both of my blogs. (i hope)

What's new? Hmmmm

Couple new additions to the family.
Al's niece.....Baby Sarah - who slept in a laundry basket for 2 days. LOVE IT! Made me remember the weeks after Aarica was born. We spent alot of time at gramma's ceramic shop and didn't have a stroller yet so Aarica would nap in a banana box. I should dig up those pics.

Of significantly less importance is the addition of a new pet to our household. We aquired a hamster cage many months ago and finally went to the city to get a critter to put in it.
He's cute and has only been briefly lost once behind the couch but I wasn't even sure he was going to make it home from the city.

Honestly. What kind of idiot thinks a small thin box is going to contain something with teeth like that? We'd picked out the critter and made a quick stop at two stores so Ty could get a playstation game and Al could get a pair of jeans with his birthday gift card - 20mins tops. Well in those 20 minutes the chewing was of epic proportion and I knew there was no way that box would last another hour ride home so I did what any good mom would do and made a sacrifice.I dumped the contents of my beloved purse into a bag and put the box with the ever growing sunroof into it and zipped it up. 5minutes later the little $10 critter was merrily munching on the INSIDE of my $50 purse. *sigh* Nothing a needle and thread can't fix and Emily is thrilled to bits with Nibblet.

What was lost....is now found!

Unbelievable. We looked and looked for those glasses and finally gave up. I was going to go in today and order the new ones --- and dish out the $204 for them. (yes carrie...i know about the website to get glasses for $15bucks from Japan)

Well, last night I couldn't sleep. I just KNEW those glasses were somewhere in this house. Well wouldn't you know it. I found the little buggers. When I told Em this morning where I'd found them she was excited (i was worried she'd be upset since she LOVES the new Jalopenos - Bananarama frames she'd picked out last week) and she said....'oh ya! i remember now!' Ugh! She couldn't have remembered that a week or two or three ago?

Anyway, so she's got her glasses back and I didn't have to order the Jalopenos ones after all....but I still plan to - in a couple weeks when I have the cash to spare. It definately won't hurt to have a 2nd pair. Since her prescription changed slightly too, I guess I'll have to get new lenses for these ones as well. And again I say...she couldn't have remembered a week or two or three ago?

Happy Mother's Day --- and what a wonderful day it is!!!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I'm just sooooo happy!!!!

LINDEN ALEXANDER GOTTFRIED was born at 12:45 am
Carrie & Garrett are the proud parents of one darn cute baby boy!

Happy Mother's Day Carrie

I'd just given up hearing anything and my head barely hit the pillow when I got the exciting text message at 1:50am from Garrett that Linden was finally here. I was so happy. I cried some tears of joy, forwarded the text message to a few people who were anxiously awaiting any news and then crashed....only to be woken by my own bundles of joy at 9am. They were fighting. Happy Mother's Day to me.

After a couple cups of coffee and dad giving the kids the evil eye - things settled down and we had a great day. I received a cute card from Owen (hand made at daycare....using Bazzill cardstock! how cool!) and a boquet of silk flowers in a pair of garden gloves as well as a fridge magnet with his cheesey little grin and a playstation game (which the kids have played more than me). In the afternoon we had Al's family here for a birthday bbq for all my May Babies - Aarica, Tyler & Emily and we played cards all. Garrett stopped by on his way home to show off pics of his pride & joy. What a cutie!!!
