Alot can happen in a couple months

whew - i just realized it has been over two months since i last posted.

the road trip to the competition was eventful - aside from hotel living, a weekend of competitions and being extremely busy, a few 'extras' were thrown in. a) i pinched a nerve in my neck/back Saturday morning - ouch...but bearable (for the moment - more happened regarding this a few days later) and b) the van broke down on the way home. definately an interesting ride back and a few days being vehicle-less while the van was fixed....not that it mattered since i was unable to drive for a week, which brings us back to the pinched nerve.

i managed to scrounge up some meds while away and my neck really didn't hurt too much - just a little stiff and sore until the night we got home. small spasm woke me up and that next day i was back to being a bit sore and unable to really move - no big deal....it's happened before, it will be fine in a few days - Ya Right! Fast forward to 6am the following morning and i have a HUGE spasm, to the point where i'm in tears and unable to get up out of bed myself (or dress myself, or get out a chair easily - you get the idea) which leads me to making a dr's appointment that afternoon (thank you chauffeur carrie!) and i do believe i spent the following 7 days in a slightly foggy daze of sleep, heating pads & muscle relaxer heaven. cool huh - ya cool except for the fact that i'd also in that week smashed my hand on the coffee table (don't try to pick up toys off the floor when you can't look down to see what you are doing - ouch) the funny thing is, my finger didn't really hurt until i'd weaned myself off those magic muscle relaxer/pain pills. Oh boy! Does that smart. It's been 2 months and i'm still feeling the effects of that little stunt and expect to for quite awhile. From experience - dislocating stuff and/or tearing tendons and all those other mystical things that make your body move.......take alot longer to heal that a simple broken bone.6

***edited to add that this post was written 2 yrs ago (in '06) and that it was sitting in 'draft' mode since then. I found it while reaquainting myself with Blogger. How cool! THIS is why I think blogging is so wonderful. I've been wondering lately when the last time I pinched a nerve in my neck and ended up on 'blithering idiot' pills. The most recent was NewYears Day '08...oh what FUN that was. Another post for another time.
